About Dr. Costakis Christos Evangelou MBE
Dr. Costakis Christos Evangelou MBE has been a leading figure in the boxing industry for over 40 years. His journey began in management, where he successfully guided his sons, Andreas and Chris Evangelou, to championship level. Following their retirement, he continued to discover and develop elite talent, including Nick “The Nightmare” Papra and Ezra “The Cannon” Taylor, the current WBC International and Commonwealth Silver Light Heavyweight Champion.
Costakis’s passion for boxing was ignited in his teenage years, and in 2004, he played a pivotal role in founding the Edmonton Eagles Amateur Boxing Club alongside President Penny Efstathiou. His commitment to youth development and community engagement has contributed to a significant decline in knife crime and anti-social behavior in the Edmonton area.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions, he was awarded the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2019. The club’s remarkable impact also earned it the prestigious Queen’s Award in 2015, the equivalent of an MBE for a voluntary organization. Edmonton Eagles ABC continues to be a nationally recognized force for positive change, frequently featured on BBC London News and Sky News.
With a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life —including royalty, sporting legends, and key figures in the boxing industry— Costakis is the ideal professional to manage, guide, and elevate sporting talent to the highest level. His extensive expertise, industry influence, and strategic acumen make him a formidable force in boxing management and sports consultancy.
